Now that Season 1 is finished, "What's next?" you say. Or maybe you didn't. No, you probably didn't. I've seen the views.
The next step in the Wacked chamber of thrills is going back through all 15 episodes and fixing some of the glitches that occured because:
a) I didn't know what the hell I was doing,
b) it wasn't deemed important at the time to fix, and
c) I didn't know what the hell I was doing.
Now that I've gotten the production process straightened out, I plan to smooth out some audio I didn't sweeten properly, fix a few shots that didn't come out right, and pretty much re-do the pilot episode.
The pilot episode is the one that bothers me the most since almost every shot and angle were individual drawings. I didn't know my way around Toon Boom very much at that point and didn't realize I could zoom in and zoom out without needing a different drawing each time. Plus, the final look for every main character comes from the drawings made for Episode 2.
Another part about the pilot I don't like is the initial conversation between Brad and Chad. Performances are flat (yay, me) and the scene takes too long. Again, another product of not understanding how a scene would actually play out once animated. I'll probably cut out some music as well. The spot where Brad talks to Connie at the door will probably have the music taken out.
Once all the episodes are tweaked and finalized I'll be cranking out DVDs and Blu-Rays for all the actors, then it's off to the races for Season 2. Some of the things I can tell you about the next season:
- Everyone will be back, except Buford the ex-boyfriend
- Chad will put his insurance settlement money (legitimate this time) to good use (for Chad)
- Astro the Monkey shows up again
- Mr. Mister hires an inspirational office advisor that likes to threaten just about everyone
- In a drunken rage during Poker Night, Chad and Mr. Mister wager a back shave
I'll probably ask my talented wife to revamp this website, too, since it's barely thisclose to being a step above a GeoCities site.
So stay tuned!
